Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB)
This committee uses donations to create and support initiatives whose goals are to increase a sense of belonging in our campus culture, celebrate and promote the diversity of our community and contribute to the equity for Campolindo students and families.
Recent initiatives DEIB donations funded include student grants for the Black Student Union JM Mentoring Program, the Native American Culture Club land acknowledgement for Campolindo, a Latinos Unidos field trip, the student production of the Laramie Project and the Global Student Union world map project and parent night. DEIB donations also funded honorariums for speakers and books for the Black Student Union Summit.
Additionally, DEIB has hosted influential speakers at Campolindo. Tim Klein, author of How to Navigate Life, spoke about cultivating purpose to foster belonging, and Dashka Slater discussed her book, The 57 Bus, which explores themes of race, class, gender, crime, and punishment in the context of an incident in Oakland, California.
Campolindo Safety/Emergency Preparedness/Campus Improvement
This fund directly supports the purchase of replacement emergency supplies each as they expire (medical, food, water, safety). The fund also supports campus safety initiatives (an example is 3 way staff radios) and projects that improve the Campolindo campus for all students. Campolindo participates in the Sandy Hook Promise - a portion of these funds may be utilized for initiatives identified by this program.
